Located on a working dairy farm of over 240 acres, in the heart of the Tamar Valley, AONB, Badger is a single storey stone, semi-detached barn conversion with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. The holiday cottage has its own patio and a shared field and play area for children to use. Gulworthy is on the Devon/Cornwall border, and right on the doorstep is Morewellham Quay. The Tamar Valley Trail is a favourite for walkers and cyclists. Tavistock, 3 miles, has pannier and farmers markets, shops, restaurants, an indoor swimming pool and a live music venue. Horse riding, fishing, canoeing, boat trips and even a train from Calstock into Plymouth are some of the things you can try whilst staying here. There are two supermarkets in Haverstock, which is 2 miles away and the nearest petrol garage is just a mile from Badger Cottage. Here you can enjoy water sports, bird watching, walking, and cycling. Take a trip aboard the Rutland Belle Cruiser, visit the famous ospreys at Egleton Nature Reserve, or browse around Barnsdale Gardens, designed by the late Geoff Hamilton. Other attractions within easy reach includes The Richard III Visitor Centre in Leicester, RAF Coningsby Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre, and the Lincolnshire Aviation Museum at East Kirby. Gretna is located on the outskirts of Longnor, a village nestled within the Peak District hills. Although the bungalow itself is quite rural, you are just a few minutes’ drive into the centre of the village where there is a pub and shop, around 5 miles is the nearest town of Buxton which has many independent shops, cafeé, and a variety of restaurants plus the opera house, which has shows on weekly, and the Pavillion Gardens which are lovely to walk around. There are other towns close to Gretna such as Leek, Ashbourne, Bakewell and the Chatsworth Estate. If you are an avid walker, you will be spoilt for choice, step outside the property and immediately be surrounded by the rolling hills offering endless countryside walks, if you prefer to follow a trail and cycle route you are just a small number of miles from the High Peak Trail which is relatively flat and has pub and ice cream stops on route.
As you arrive at Gretna you will find ample parking down the driveway for all guests’ cars. There is a private back garden with comfortable furniture to sit on whilst spending the morning planning your exciting day ahead. There is a large living room with enough seating for all guests on the L-shaped sofa, which conveniently faces the Smart TV and wood burner; the views from this room are stunning and far reaching, especially on a clear day. The views can also be seen from the kitchen, which has all the appliances and equipment you should need to cook your favourite meals, and includes a dishwasher to ease clearing up; there is a dining table that can be extended to seat more guests. The property has three bedrooms, made up of a king, a double and a single with a pull-out bed option (for a child). There is a family bathroom with shower over the bath and an additional toilet. The property also offers a gym which is shared with other properties on the land, inside the gym is a designated study area should you need somewhere peaceful to do a few hours work.

There is also a golf course in the village, as well as a network of quiet lanes and foot trails, offering good walking and cycling opportunities. The popular seaside town of Cromer, 7 miles, offers plenty of fun for all age groups, with its famous pier, promenade, wide beach and town centre with many shops, cafés, restaurant and pubs. The market town of North Walsham is 5 miles away, where fishing is possible (with licence), and Wroxham, capital of the Norfolk Broads, is 12 miles, with daily boat hire, river trips, riverside cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops.
