The owner’s land offers direct access onto open moorland and is a favourite spot for keen walkers as there are many circular routes around the village onto Dartmoor and up to the Avon Dam. Kennels are available (by prior arrangement). There are several pubs serving food, coffee shop delicatessen, fish and chip, takeaway in South Brent, as well as a small supermarket and post office. For the children, there is Crealy Adventure Park or Go Ape in Haldon. If you are bringing a bicycle, there are many cycle ways off road to be explored, including Powderham Castle where there is a cycle track all along the estuary.

There are many places of interest for the whole family. If you are a keen walker, the Teign Valley is well known for its delightful woodland footpaths. It is an area of outstanding beauty and in the springtime, the Dunsford woods are famous for beautiful natural daffodils and a little later, a carpet of bluebells.
