Welcome to Anchors Away, a wonderful and spacious, one bedroomed ground floor apartment in the heart of Blue Anchor, with stunning views across the bay to Minehead.
Step through the door and into your bright, airy and well equipped kitchen/diner, complete with electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The cosy living room has comfy sofas and chairs to snuggle up on while watching TV or when gazing out through the conservatory to the garden and the sea beyond. Speaking of which, the conservatory has a seating area and double doors that lead to your private enclosed garden, perfect for the dog or you to relax and enjoy. The bedroom has a double bed and separate dressing area, while the shower room has a large cubicle shower and toilet.
Blue Anchor is a wonderful seaside village, set between Minehead and Watchet, with a fabulous stretch of beach which is perfect for year round use and is also dog friendly at all times! The beautiful West Somerset Steam Railway, which runs through Blue Anchor, has a stop here and they offer wonderful trips as well as speciality trips with steam fairs, afternoon teas, candlelight dinners and the amazing Santa Express! Nearby, head to the medieval village of Dunster with its wonderful castle, spend a day at the arcades or shopping in Minehead, pop to Watchet and stroll around the Harbour or head inland onto Exmoor.

This lovely ground floor apartment is both spacious and airy and is located under 300 yards away from the serene local beach – the perfect place to enjoy some of the best sunsets in this amazing region. The popular South West coast path is just a few minutes walk from High Tide. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay as a base for discovering North Devon or want a place to simply kick back and relax, then High Tide is just perfect. Accessed via the private car park, the apartment is reached up a flight of stairs and once inside the accommodation is all on one level and comprises two bedrooms (a kingsize and a twin) and a contemporary bathroom with a bath and shower over. The open plan living space includes a comfortable living area with a Smart TV and patio doors leading out into the patio garden, which is on two levels. From here you can sit and enjoy an outdoor meal or evening drink and you can see the sea with Wales in the distance. Back inside, the kitchen/dining area has all you’ll need for your stay. Private parking is also available for up to one car. Within a 5 minute walk there are shops, cafes and pubs.
The surrounding area has many attractions waiting to be discovered, such as the local beach at Combe Martin where you can enjoy the stunning sunsets of the North Devon coast. On the door step is the South West Coast Path too, popular with walkers, and the surrounding area boasts other attractions such as Cairn Woodland Nature Reserve, Watermouth Bay and, the lovely Fuchsia Valley, Watermouth Castle and Theme Park and don’t forget the nearby town of Ilfracombe with its very own harbour and port which dates back to at least the 12th Century. here you can sample quality ice cream, fish and chips and visit various craft shops, plus Damien Hirst’s ‘Verity’ statue, which is a must see. Trips to Lundy Island, coastal cruises, fishing, sea-life safaris and diving are also all available from here. Take a trip on the Ilfracombe Princess and see seals, porpoises and sea birds nesting on the cliffs. Try your hand at sea fishing on Blue Fin or take an exhilarating tour of the amazing coastline on the Ilfracombe Sea Safari or on the Hampshire Rose, a former RNLI Lifeboat.
Combe Martin is also perfectly situated to the enjoy the countless other North Devon attractions such as the popular Tarka Trail which provides the unique opportunity to follow a disused railway line allowing you to enjoy some of Devon’s finest countryside and scenery stretching from Barnstaple through to Bideford and beyond. And then there’s stunning Exmoor National Park with its beautiful night skies, just 6 miles away and Lynton & Lynmouth, 13 miles to the northeast with its incredible sea views, rugged cliffs and amazing funicular cliff railway, which opened in 1890 and is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world! Eton Cottage is a lower ground floor apartment set within an old Grade II listed cottage that is situated within 1 mile of the seafront in this lovely seaside town. Eton Cottage offers comfortable, spacious and contemporary accommodations for up to four guests who are looking for the perfect base from which to discover this beautiful part of the country.
Fully updated in 2023, Eton Cottage is well suited for a small family or couples and is within easy reach of shops, restaurants and the beach. The accommodation comprises a living/dining room with a smart TV and comfortable furniture, and a kitchen. There are two bedrooms: a kingsize with a work/snug area and doors leading out onto a small private sitting-out patio, perfect for a quiet evening read with a drink, and there is also a twin bedroom.
Minehead is a lovely seaside town that sits on the edge of Exmoor National Park. If walking is your passion, there is no better place to be. Not only do you have Exmoor on the doorstep, with its magnificent views, designated ‘dark skies’ for gorgeous stargazing, wildlife and cosy pubs; the town is also the starting point of the Southwest Coast Path, the longest countryside trail in the southwest. It’s also the terminus for West Somerset Railway, the longest heritage railway in Britain. The town offers a wide range of attractions, including the beach, promenade, harbour, beautiful gardens and a colourful tree-lined avenue with an array of shops and amenities. Dominated by the wooded slopes of North Hill, the whole area is renowned for its outstanding natural beauty and is also well situated to discover the beauty of North Devon with stunning Lynton and Lynmouth en route.

Located in stunning Exmoor National Park and just 55 minutes from Exeter, this beautiful, semi-detached, Grade II thatched cottage is situated a few steps away from a pub, which is also owned by the cottage’s owner. Here you can indulge in some tasty fayre made with locally sourced fresh produce or simply pop along for a drink or two in traditional and comfortable surroundings.
The accommodation comprises three bedrooms on the first floor; a super kingsize and main bathroom with a clawfoot bath and a walk-in wardrobe, which are accessed via the first staircase on one side of the cottage, and bunk bedroom and double room, both benefiting from a ‘Jack and Jill’ style en-suite shower room, with a double size rain shower cubicle. These rooms are accessed via a quirky spiral-style staircase so some care should be taken going up and down. There are two characterful reception rooms, one with a double sofa bed and a Smart TV, and the other a comfortable snug where you can escape to and enjoy the gas wood burner. There’s a handy downstairs toilet and a utility room too. The kitchen has everything you’ll need for your stay including a Smeg coffee machine, toaster and kettle, and a Neff oven and combi microwave. Outside you’ll be able to enjoy the large lawned garden with a lovely patio where you can have al fresco meals or just relax with a drink. To the rear of the cottage there is also a handy bike store.
Exmoor National Park is a walker’s paradise. Or, if you’re more of an energetic type, you can run, cycle or indeed simply relax enjoying the magical night skies of Europe’s first ’Dark Sky Reserve’. The park also has abundant wildlife, including ponies, sheep and red deer that graze the open moorland, and overhead you might see falcons, buzzards and even the rare merlin. The area is also perfect for exploring North Devon with all its attractions, such as the many rugged coastal towns and quaint villages like beautiful Lynton and Lynmouth, and stunning cliff top sites such as Valley of the Rocks. The location is also perfect for exploring the rest of north Somerset, and the beautiful city of Exeter is just 55 minutes or so by car. Beach 11½ miles.

Set on the village edge in a delightful wooded valley with a lovely garden this semi-detached holiday cottage offers comfortable, value for money family accommodation. Accessed over a small wooden bridge across a stream, running through the neighbour’s grounds, it is ideally positioned for walking, riding and touring. Beautiful Exmoor with its sleepy villages, native ponies and red deer as well as the attractions of the coast, close to Minehead, Watchet Harbour and beach at Blue Anchor. Dunster Castle and village (NT) and the West Somerset Steam Railway are nearby. Shop ½ mile, pub ¼ mile.

Tuppence Cottage is situated right in the heart of Dulverton, which has a good range of shops, pubs and tea rooms. Close to this semi-detached cottage, there is plenty of walking into the surrounding countryside and up to Exmoor National Park. Visit Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon and the pretty moorland village of Withypool. Further afield, there is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path, or the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watermeet Gorge (National Trust), Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway, are also worth a visit. The resort of Minehead has a promenade, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit to the medieval village of Dunster, with its castle (National Trust), beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill, will make for an interesting day out. Watchet, Porlock and Porlock Weir hold plenty of charm and interest to those who visit the area, and there are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor. Fishing is available within 3 miles of Tuppence Cottage. Dulverton is very popular for fishing and has its own angling club, as well as a fishing shop in the high street. Only 2 miles away is a fishery, which is one of the local places to fish and is open all year round. Wimbleball Lake is only 5 miles away and has trout and coarse fishing. You can also book fishing lessons here. There is a wide range of fishing available, including, fly fishing, salmon fishing and coarse fishing. All fishing requires day tickets, which can be purchased from the fisheries. Beach 16 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Peacefully set high up in rural Somerset close to Exmoor National Park and with far reaching views over open countryside, this holiday home attached to the owner’s farmhouse, provides a comfortable base for relaxation or touring. Excellent for walking and pony trekking as well as exploring Exmoor villages, Wimbleball Lake and west Somerset coast. Easily reached are Minehead, Dunster Castle (National Trust), Knightshayes Court (National Trust) and market town of Taunton. In the lawned front garden, there is a sitting-out area – the ideal spot to enjoy al fresco dining or a drink on a balmy evening and enjoy distant views of the Somerset coast. There is superb walking with many footpaths leading to either the South West Coastal Path or the heathlands and forests of the Dunster woodland and Exmoor National Park. Other places to visit are the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton which are famous for the Watersmeet Gorge, National Trust, the Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. The West Somerset Railway is great for steam train lovers! There are beaches at Porlock and Dunster. Shops, pubs and restaurants 3 miles.

This large half of a 150-year-old farmhouse stands in a lovely landscaped garden situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Porlock, with stunning uninterrupted views of the Bristol Channel. It is tastefully furnished with very spacious rooms and ideal for a two-family holiday. An excellent base for exploring the Exmoor National Park, where there is walking, riding and a wealth of wildlife, the superb Quantock Hills and the sandy beaches of North Devon to the west. Well worth a visit are the National Trust cottages at Bossington, the pretty packhorse bridge at Allerford or Selworthy - once described as the most attractive village in England. For the children, a visit to Lynch Farm Park, with its falcons, is sure to entertain. The seaside resort of Minehead, where sailing trips to Lundy Island are available, is nearby.
