Mill House is a listed property perfectly set within the picturesque village of Hawnby, built in 1781 by I and L Dawson. Surrounded by the North York Moors National Park, this detached property is simply stunning and is everything you would want from a luxury holiday retreat, complete with Hikki Bohemen wood-fired hot tub.
Mill House has been renovated throughout but still retains its sense of history. No expense has been spared and visitors are ensured of perfection throughout. Hawnby is only 8 miles from Helmsley which is arguably one of Yorkshire’s finest market towns. This wonderful village is where the North York Moors and the Howardian Hills meet, offering some of the finest views and countryside. Helmsley is also a walker’s paradise where the Ebor Way meets the Cleveland Way, along with the Inn Way. With a reputation for great Yorkshire hospitality, the market square is a meeting point for walkers, cyclists and locals alike. Helmsley knows how to keep its visitors happy, with many shops, cafés, eateries including Michelin starred restaurants, an open-air swimming pool, walled garden, castle, bird of prey centre, microbrewery, two abbey ruins and the stately home of Duncombe Park. Otley, 7 miles, is a great place to enjoy a walk along the river and the closest town for supermarkets etc. You also have instant access to explore the National Trust site of Brimham Rocks, 8.6 miles, and the World Heritage Site Fountains Abbey, 12 miles, which are both a must.

Well House is an imposing, lovingly furnished with Farrow & Ball colour schemes, Grade II listed home dating back to the early 1700s (circa 1640), which retains many of its original period features, being high ceilings and exposed beams. Formerly the Angel Inn, Well House faces the high street in the popular village of Belford. This property was believed to have been protected throughout war due to the property being the main source of water for the village, and amazingly the well still remains in the cellar of this historic property! Well House has significant historical local importance and legend. Beckwick is a spacious bungalow on the outskirts of the market town of Bishop Auckland, well known for its castle and gardens and annual Kynren historical spectacle. Tucked away in a quiet residential area, the bungalow sits in private grounds behind a gated entrance. With extensive gardens, the property looks out across the landscaped garden onto a small ornamental lake. Sure to be a great attraction is the 6-seater hot tub, offering fun for all whatever time of year.

Inside the property are well laid out social spaces, a large lounge with comfortable sofas. A separate garden room with wall mounted TV and a bar area! There is a games room, complete with an air hockey table! For the designated chef the kitchen/dining room will provide everything you need whether rustling up a hearty breakfast or supper.

Beckwick is just under 2 miles from the town centre to discover the surprising story of Bishop Auckland. Auckland Castle has been home to Francisco de Zurbarán’s series of Spanish masterpieces Jacob and His Twelve Sons, for over 250 years. With beautiful countryside, various bike trails and plenty of walks for guests of all abilities including the very popular Gruffalo Trail for children. Take a drive to the Dales villages of Wolsingham, Frosterley and Stanhope or a little further to Middleton-in-Teesdale and the impressive High Force Waterfalls. Barnard Castle, the Bowes Museum and Raby Castle are within an easy 30-minute drive as well as the historic cathedral city of Durham which has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
