Bod Eithin is spacious and furnished to a high standard. It is ideally located for families, as it is a short walk from the award winning 4 mile long, sandy Harlech beach. It is regularly awarded as one of the finest beaches in Wales and is backed by protected sand dunes. Being a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), Morfa Harlech is now a National Nation Reserve, one of only 70 in the UK. It boasts numerous important sanctuaries for wildlife. In spring and summer keep an eye out for the three-coloured dune pansy, the pyramidal orchid or even the scarce bee orchid. When in ?ower, the dry dune grasslands are home to a number of butter?ies and moths, such as the six-spot burnet moth and the common blue and small copper butter?ies.
Other insects such as some of our rarest mining bees who depend on bare sand and you may spot a sand lizard, too. Ringed plover nest on the beach in spring and other birds such as the skylark and stonechat breed in the dunes, with redshank and lapwing using the saltmarsh. In winter wading birds such as oystercatcher, dunlin and sanderling feed along the shoreline, and wildfowl make use of the estuaries and saltmarsh.
Situated within the Snowdonia National Park, Bod Eithin is perfectly placed for reaching the tourist attractions of Zip World, Llanfair Slate Caverns, Shell Island, Portmeirion, Porthmadog, Barmouth, Beddgelert, the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways and Coed-y-Brenin Forest. The town of Harlech is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, courtesy of Harlech Castle built in 1282 and a world record holder for the steepest street in the world at 37.54%, Fford pen Llech. The world renowned Royal St David’s Golf Course is opposite (a top 50 course in Great Britain & Ireland). Walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, bird watchers and fishermen will find plenty to test their skills in the area, and for those wanting to travel slightly further, Snowdon, the Lleyn Peninsula and Betws-y-Coed are all an easy scenic drive away. For those with a head for heights fast jets can be seen training and photographed as part of the Mach Loop and flights can be arranged from the nearby Snowdonia Flight School to take you over the summit of Snowdon. The town has a swimming pool and climbing wall with instructors available for helping young and old alike. There are numerous public footpaths for walkers to enjoy and a section of the North Wales cycle route cuts through Llanllechid. In around ten minutes you may drive to Penryhn Castle owned by the National Trust with its grand rooms and attractive gardens. Or if you prefer a little retail therapy the city of Bangor is a further five minutes away. Ask for the quick route to Aber Falls and you could be at the start of a really nice and not too arduous walk in about 15 minutes to see the waterfall. Slightly further afield there are numerous attractive places to visit both seaside and hillside. This single storey holiday cottage for two is tucked away down a very narrow lane (7ft wide) in the delightfully named Fairy Glen above the hamlet of Capelulo near Conwy. There is a lovely light living area and a peaceful secluded garden in which to relax or dine al fresco. Just inside the Snowdonia National Park, you can walk up into the mountains from the door. Ideal for visiting historic Conwy with its castle, town walls and quay as well as Aberconwy House (National Trust) and Cadw’s Plas Mawr. The Victorian town of Llandudno has a wide range of shops, two beaches, the famous Great Orme’s Head with the Great Orme Tramway, the UK’s longest cable car, and 4,000 year old copper mines which are well worth a visit, plus you can take in a show at Venue Cymru theatre. The Conwy Valley offers Surf Snowdonia, the world’s first artificial inland surfing lake, with Betws-y-Coed just a little further on, whilst in the other direction is the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, with 125 miles of beaches and rocky coves just waiting to be explored. A fully equipped kitchen and dining room with space for all the family to sit and enjoy an evening meal. The bedrooms have been stylishly furnished in a boutique style with quality mattresses and furnishings.
Porthmadog is a busy harbour town, home to the Welsh Highland Steam Railway. Within easy reach is Black Rock Sands where you’ll find miles of sweeping sands and dunes, and Portmeirion, an enchanting Italian-style village. A short drive is Harlech with its imposing Castle and extensive beach. Nearby Blaenau Ffestiniog, an adrenaline junkie’s delight with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, and the Stiniog mountain bike trails. The area has something for everyone of all ages, from scenic walking routes, bike trails, epic climbing, to a whole host of water sports on offer. Beach 1 mile. Pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Pebble Cottage is a stunning former fisherman’s cottage situated close to the beach front and local amenities in Aberdovey. There isn’t a better location to be for those looking for a seaside escape. Set within the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park, excellent for those walkers visiting the area. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline, and has a history dating back hundreds of years. It offers miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches with a fantastic selection of water based activities available including sailing, fishing and windsurfing. Golfers are also well catered for with an 18-hole championship golf course located at the western end of the village, which welcomes visiting players. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the wonderful opportunities for walking and bird watching available in the surrounding area. A myriad of visitor attractions are within easy reach including the Vale of Rheidol Railway, Talyllyn Railway, the Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur’s Labyrinth. Beach 100 yards. Perthi is within walking distance to the centre of Porthmadog, a busy harbour town on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and home to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railway, a must visit for families and rail enthusiasts alike. There are plenty of eateries, supermarkets, and independent shops to browse.
You are within easy reach of Black Rock Sands where you’ll find miles of sweeping sands and dunes, Portmeirion is just down the road, an enchanting Italian-style village. Walk along the coastal path to the charming, picturesque Borth Y Guest at just over a mile in distance, a great walk for all abilities. The Llŷn Peninsula is an unspoilt, designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with miles of coastal and mountain walks to explore. There is wildlife in abundance, pods of dolphins, seals, and birdlife to spot. Nearby Pwllheli has plenty of shops to browse around, eateries and a large beach with miles of sweeping sands.
